This Cloud Onboarding Architect is a senior IT professional who will be focused on supporting application teams, in designing their application and solution architectures, and work with them to onboard their applications to the public cloud. This architect will also help plan roadmaps and sequencing of work for our cloud journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach teams through design and architecture review boards

• Consult with teams to improve their delivery maturity for cloud

• Provide platform guidance for different use cases

• Lead "accelerator teams" to teach application teams to use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and leverage cloud service module templates, patterns, and self-service tooling to build their cloud infrastructure and application.

• Partner with cloud product owner and foundation team to prioritize platform pattern automation

• Help drive roadmaps for cloud adoption and sequencing with business unit IT leaders

Key Skills

• Broad solution architecture experience

• Application architectures (e.g. n-tier)

• Integration architectures (APIs, Event Streaming, Message Queues and ETL)

• Platform architecture

• Security architecture - identity and access management, data loss prevention

• Data architecture - different data models and approaches (relational, NoSQL, data mesh, lakes / warehouses)

• Proven experience modernizing from legacy technologies to cloud (including midrange and mainframe platforms)

• Consulting mindset demonstrating problem solving with a customer focus

• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)

• Platform as a Service

• Containers, Kubernetes

• Security

• Firewalls, Networks

• Data platforms - data pipelines, data fabric, database platforms

• Infrastructure as a Service - supporting re-paving and patching of VMs

• Agile application delivery experience

• Scrum or other agile methods to deliver against product backlog

• Strong DevOps pipeline experience (GitHub preferred)

Experience

• At least 10 years in software delivery and architecture

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• Applicable cloud certifications
