The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Cloud Migration Lead Developer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with 3M technology and application teams as a member of Platform Engineering in the design, planning, migration, and tooling to successfully operate in the AWS Public Cloud.

Primary areas to provide a positive impact to 3M include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design and develop migration tooling and strategies to migrate many different types of applications to running in AWS with minimal business disruption

  • Ensure migration activities are aligned and integrated with other development

  • Advocate for and help adoption in engineering best practices by assisting teams in using frameworks for infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure concepts

  • Build full and partial stack components for AWS solutions

  • Develop AWS Cloud Formation templates for deploying solutions in AWS

  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and performance of cloud platforms through fully automated deployments and continual monitoring

  • Assist with planning and prioritization of development to meet organizational timelines

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who minimally have the following qualifications:

  • Associate's or two (2) year degree/diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years Technology (IT) experience in a public, private, military or government environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree of higher from an accredited institution

  • Experience with Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure solutions in production environments running Windows or Linux

  • Demonstrated knowledge of IaaS, PaaS and virtualization - service-oriented architecture designed around the delivery of Infrastructure components as a service

  • Proficiency in some or all of the following: ARM, CFT, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Node.js, Java, JavaScript, C#, APIs

  • Experience in automating large-scale deployments with modern software configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Jenkins)

  • Working knowledge or experience delivering modern applications, microservices, and services within a CICD / DevOps model

Location: Woodbury, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
