Title : Cloud IT Systems Engineer
Location : Seattle, WA
Duration : 6 months
IT Systems Engineer to administer the operation of IT infrastructure, including virtual servers, server operating systems, and applications supporting around-the-clock business operations.
Perform high quality systems operations, best practices application, optimization, internal/external customer interactions, and produce appropriate technical documentation.
Demonstrate sound knowledge of cloud-based IT delivery concepts and theory, and have experience participating in support for highly secure enterprise or service provider environment.
Research, deploy, configure, and maintain 3rd party applications to support business or IT needs
Design, deploy and administer cloud based security, identity, and access management tools and utilities
Design, deploy and administer cloud based backup, storage and archiving solutions
Work closely with our Software Engineering teams to assist with operations and sustaining of IT and application software delivery.
Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer.
Experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with Single Sign-On technologies such as oAuth, SAML.
Good communication / emotional intelligence
Key applications and infrastructure support / troubleshooting areas: Network / Security / Authentication / Permissions / Policy management and troubleshooting:
TCP/IP, IP Routing, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NFS, ACLs, user permissions, etc.
Key Tech skills
Linux/Unix environment
AWS (non-Microsoft)
VMWare
Airwatch
Octa for identity management
iOS, MacOS, Android (devices there is no PC in this solution)
Possess Scripting skills or have desire to learn them; specifically Python, Perl, or Shell (bash, ksh, csh).
Healthcare experience preferred.

The Cloud Infrastructure team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of our public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers.   This team is part of our  Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world.   Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on AWS to build at scale. <br /> <br /> The Cloud Infrastructure team is responsible for:<br /> <br /> Design and implementation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into multiple public cloud regions<br /> Development and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions moving forward<br /> Overall reliability and security of these services and the environments they are run in<br /> Monitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure services, as well as metrics collection and reporting related to them<br /> <br /> <strong>Job Description</strong><br /> <br /> As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will be a key contributor to platform development activities for our team in Salt Lake City, accompanied by a development team in Seattle.  These teams are developing services, tools, and processes to support other engineering teams as well as  deliver solutions to our customers.  You will be working on a high-velocity, results-oriented team that leverages cutting-edge technologies and techniques. The right individual will be motivated and will have a passion for automation, deployment processes and enabling innovation. Your efforts will help to shape engineering culture and best practices across our Software Enterprise organization.<br /> <br /> <strong>Responsibilities will include:</strong><br /> <br /> Work with Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team members to build a robust Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment platform <br /> Standardize and manage CI/CD setup procedures for monitoring deployment process performance, testing, error handling, reporting, archiving, and optimizing.<br /> Scope, plan and manage DevOps infrastructure enhancements and Upgrades.<br /> Develop automation and other tools to minimize delivery time and increase developer productivity.<br /> Help identify opportunities to improve system scalability and stability, and implement enhancements and best practices for modern development principles and methodologies.<br /> Participate in the design and development of new and evolving services, architecture, and performance standards<br /> Troubleshoot both infrastructure and infrastructure automation issues<br /> <br /> <strong>Qualifications:</strong><br /> <br /> BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree) with 7+ years of professional software development, systems, or DevOps experience<br /> Expertise with at least one of the following:  automation/configuration management, web/cloud security, cloud services (ideally Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services), on-prem/cloud infrastructure, and/or container/orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Mesos, etc)<br /> Experience with revision control source code repositories and git branching technologies.<br /> A working understanding of at least one coding and scripting language (Python, GoLang, Bash, Java, or JavaScript preferred)<br /> Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service<br /> Knowledge of application layer protocols, including HTTP, SOAP/REST, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, TLS/SSL<br /> Familiarity with tools for systems management, operational support, and performance monitoring<br /> Advanced troubleshooting skills across all layers of the OSI model<br /> A strong background in Linux/Unix Administration<br /> On-call and night and weekend work are occasionally required<br /> Ability to work in a fast paced, evolving, growing and agile environment<br /> Strong level of curiosity and interest to learn<br /> Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer<br /> <br /> <strong>Basic Requirements</strong><br /> <br /> BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree) with 7+ years of professional software development, systems, or DevOps experience<br /> Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer Makena Partners Seattle WA
