About this Role

Reporting to the Sr Director of Cloud Governance, the Cloud FinOps Analyst will be responsible for the continued development of LexisNexis' FinOps practice. This includes key strategic activities such as working with divisional finance and engineering teams to determine value metrics and detailed cloud margin reporting, developing updated corporate FinOps targets and forecasting future cloud and GenAI usage to all levels of the organization. This position will work with business units, supporting multiple assigned projects aimed at delivering IT solutions and services that meet company cost, quality and strategic targets. The role will predominately focus on gathering and analyzing work group data, defining current processes and requirements, researching best practices and identifying and documenting process improvements and functional specifications.

Requirements:

• Post secondary degree in finance or engineering (some finance preferred

• 3+ years' experience in public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, )

• 3 years Demonstrated success in cloud cost optimization / FinOps efforts

• You can share cost data in a meaningful and concise manner.

• Proven solid communication skills a must

• You have successfully built showback/chargeback models for engineering teams.

• You can share cost data in a meaningful and concise manner.

• You have data analysis skills including SQL and building cost forecast models.

• Data analytic skills around building cost forecast models

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring cloud usage and spending data to identify cost-saving opportunities

• Developing and implementing strategies to optimize cloud costs

• Collaborating with finance, operations, and technology teams to drive cost optimization initiatives

• Analyzing cloud usage patterns and trends to identify areas for optimization

• Developing cost models for new initiatives like GenAI, influencing architectural decisions and providing input to business cases.

• Creating reports and dashboards to track and communicate cloud cost optimization efforts to stakeholders

• Working with cloud service providers to negotiate pricing and contracts

• Provide guidance to engineering teams on implementation of optimization recommendations
