Cloud Engineering Architect

• Build and maintain key infrastructure that is observable, stable, and performant.

• Work with industry-leading technologies and cloud deployments.

• Lead technical transformation and automation efforts that improve the customer experience and lower maintenance overhead.

About the role

As a Cloud Engineering Architect, you will be leading the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure that supports hundreds of customer deployments, enabling our development teams to efficiently build, deploy, and automatically test code changes and new capabilities. You will collaborate with our best and brightest engineers, product managers, and support teams to ensure our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient.

• Design and automate scalable, highly available application deployments, improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness of infrastructure.

• Implement code, automation tools, custom tools, and scripts as necessary to evolve systems and processes.

• Work closely with leaders across development, product, and support teams to build well-monitored, auto-scaled, and highly available processes.

• Leverage tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Rundeck, Zabbix, and Terraform to reduce manual work and build resilient, self-healing systems.

• Document existing systems and processes for review by internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for you if you have:

• 5+ years' experience as a Cloud Architect or senior DevOps/SRE with a design focus.

• Extensive experience in major public cloud environments, particularly AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• Strong networking skills and experience with multi-region and cross-account connectivity.

• Experience with cloud security, privacy, compliance, and disaster recovery requirements.

• Strong understanding of software design principles and CI/CD workflows.

• Understanding of multi-cloud design strategies and limitations.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.

• Background in cost-efficient designs and cost forecasting.

• Able to communicate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.

• Lead technical teams through example.

• Practical experience working with generative AI systems is a plus.

• Cloud Providers: AWS, GCP, Azure (all major compute, storage, and database services).

• Networking: VPC peering, Transit Gateway, VPC Lattice.

• Databases: Postgres, MongoDB, Aurora, ClickHouse, ElasticSearch.

• Messaging: SQS/SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka.

• Monitoring: CloudWatch, Datadog, SSM, AlertSite.

• CI/CD:GitHub Actions, Jenkins, BuildKite, CodePipeline.
