NiS is looking for a Cloud Engineer for the STRATCOM Cloud Project Staff. A Cloud Engineer designs, deploys, optimizes, and maintains an organization's cloud-based systems. The selected candidate will work with IT professionals to ensure that cloud computing systems meet the organization's needs. The selected candidate will monitor system performance, ensure security and scalability, and stay updated with new cloud technologies. The selected candidate's role is crucial to the success of an organization's cloud computing strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems.

• Develop and maintain cloud solutions following best practices.

• Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.

• Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.

• Interact with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on client needs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role

• Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.

• Troubleshooting and analytical skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Client management skills to discuss systems as needed.

• Relevant training and/or certifications as a Cloud Engineer

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering. or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience as a technical specialist.

• 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net C++, or similar object-oriented language.

• Subject Matter Expert level practical Linux (AND/OR) Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.

• Expert level familiarity with automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.
