A career in our Cloud and Network Architecture practice, within Cloud Computing and Networking services, will provide you with the opportunity to focus on the joint business relationship between PwC and Google, HP, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and other cloud based platforms that bring new and innovative services to some of the largest companies. You'll be at the forefront of helping organisations around the globe adopt innovative technology solutions that optimise business processes or enable scalable technology. Our team helps organisations transform their network architecture and infrastructure to fundamentally change the role of Information Technology from an custodial asset to an orchestrator of business services. As part of the team, you'll focus on the architecture of data centres, including the design and implementation of network architecture and information storage to optimise innovation and programme delivery for our clients.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above

  • Train and lead staff

  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Demonstrates proven thorough knowledge and/or success with completing and managing components of private, public or hybrid cloud environment-related Business Systems Integrations solutions, which includes the following:

  • Leveraging thorough knowledge of the following areas to create and deliver cloud computing solutions to meet PwC's and the client's objectives: Enterprise Architecture, Integration Strategy and Roadmap, Service Oriented Architecture, Vendor Selection, Business Process Management, Systems Architecture and AnyShore Delivery;

  • Assisting with the delivery cloud based application architectures and development, integration, distributed data management, and application testing;

  • Understanding hardware virtualization (servers, storage, and networks), grid computing, internet security protocols and standards, application, integration, and data architecture;

  • Participating in and/or leading several project management workstreams and teams, including large development projects with off-shore, vendor, and/or client resources components that emphasize evangelizing cloud computing at both the business and technology levels;

  • Building on existing investments in virtualization, service oriented architecture, and web solutions, while leveraging mature concepts, architectures, and technologies largely borrowed from the mainframe;

  • Collaborating with other technical and non-technical team members, clients, and vendors in technology neutral language to define, build, and deliver solutions; and,

  • Progressing in professional IT roles of increasing responsibility from Developer to Architect and Team Lead to Program and/or Project Manager across multiple technology implementation systems.

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success with utilizing the following technologies to provide architecture cloud computing and virtualization-based solutions that include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Backend languages: Java, C, C++;

  • Side-server scripting language: PHP, Python, Ruby;

  • Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Google Apps, Rackspace Cloud, Eucalyptus and similar technology set.

Utilizing thorough creative problem-solving abilities and a consistent consultancy mindset while working on, as well as proven intimate knowledge of researching problems and/or issues and developing and offering effective solutions for, clients' initiatives related to Business Systems Integrations solutions and Cloud Application Transformation. Proven thorough abilities to write, communicate, facilitate, and present cogently to and/or for all levels of industry audiences, clients and internal staff and management, which includes whitepapers, studies and client briefings.

The Sr Director, Architecture will Report to the SVP Product & Technology, the Sr Director of Architecture role leads the enterprise architecture function that provides project level and long-term direction of the systems architecture. Based on overall enterprise plans, the Sr Director proposes the basic systems philosophies and directions related to planning and architecture for acquiring computing platforms, frameworks, tools as well as application software systems. This includes driving execution of architecture initiatives, evaluating current R1 current infrastructure, and driving the organization's architecture function to the future to deliver business value aligned to the strategy. The successful candidate will have an extremely technical background and are a respected thought-leader in this space. You will have successfully architected and implemented large scale solutions for mid to large size organizations. You are a strong collaborator with superior leadership and organizational capabilities who thrives on working in a fast paced, changing environment. Responsibilities: * Lead the development and delivery of the roadmap for migration to the Cloud. * Leads the development and standardization of enterprise reference architectures, technology roadmaps, application development frameworks and development standards. * Lead the development of enterprise strategic initiatives for annual and multi-year budget planning * Assumes extensive responsibility for projecting and planning future architectural, technology and personnel needs. * Is knowledgeable and complies with mandated security, disaster recovery and business continuity, internal control, and financial reporting requirements including ISO 27001, Sarbanes-Oxley, and HIPAA. * Approves programs to educate management and users in Information Technology solution capabilities. * Provides senior technical leadership to Systems and the enterprise including being conversant with the future direction of systems, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise. * Works closely with all other Systems management personnel in identifying, evaluating, and selecting specific hardware and software platforms which support the business plans. * Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts of future technology trends. * Advises Systems and Programming management regarding the technical direction of application development projects and closely reviews compliance with that direction. * Participates with vendors in the assessment of advanced operating systems and database production systems, this includes beta and field test participation. * Defines the strategy for linkage of Internet and other non-enterprise exclusive Information Highway networks to the enterprises network. * Serves as a futurist for the enterprise's Systems division and leads innovation teams. * Administers the development and publication of Systems department standards and responds to all audits of the department's activities and systems. * Development and standardization of architectural frameworks and software development life-cycle processes. * Advise and assist in the definition of an enterprise wide data architecture that supports the business needs in the area of detailed analysis and technology evolution.
