Who You Are

We are seeking a motivated and highly-skilled hands-on Cloud Automation Architect to join our Cloud Team as we advance our goal of bringing HPC (High Performance Computing) to the world.

  • The ideal candidates will have strong technical and interpersonal skills, a passion for automation and cloud computing technologies, and an interest in the world of HPC.

  • Primary responsibilities will be to define, develop, and deploy automation solutions that help move Cray to the cloud. This includes both solutions that help Cray systems look more like private cloud platforms when installed on-premises in large installations, as well as moving Cray systems directly into public cloud platforms.

  • Additionally, these members of the Cloud Computing technical team will work with other members of Cray's global R&D organization to help define key cloud enablement aspects for Cray's portfolio of supercomputers and big data storage and analytics and help drive their implementation across the Cray R&D organization. Requirements

    Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Engineering or equivalent job-related experience.

  • 5+ years of experience automating builds, testing frameworks, CI pipelines, bare-metal installs, cloud application orchestration you get the point.

  • 5+ years experience with automation tooling such as ansible, chef, puppet, salt, terraform,

  • Experience with deploying and managing services in multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack).

  • Hands-on experience supporting a live, mission-critical (24x7x365) platform as part of a devops organization.

  • Experience in relevant programming languages and a modern devops toolchain.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker is desirable.

  • Great verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and organization.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree Preferred: Bachelor Degree Preferred Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates intimate knowledge and/or a proven record of success in security architecture as applied in the support of and integration with key business and strategic priorities including the following areas: * Contributing new intellectual capital through deep specialization in a subject matter area or technical domain within Security Architecture; * Translating pillar strategy by leading or managing others and performing work with significant independence; * Influencing both internally and externally through building and leading a large team or complex project, or multiple teams or projects, within Security Architecture; * Managing efforts within the Security Architecture space; and, * Building and maintaining large-scale, multi-part programs while supervising teams to execute against overall strategy. Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas: * Engaging business and technology stakeholders at all levels to gather long term goals and requirements; * Mapping long term business requirements to security architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, Zachman etc.; * Designing and building security technology solutions aligned to a global central service environment; * Engineering experience with enterprise security technology; * Contributing to a central technology service organization; * Navigating a matrix organization; and, * Collaborating with multiple stakeholders across functional and technical skillsets.
