You would join Noblis' pattern analysis and identity resolution division as we continue to grow our software and digital capabilities. Today our team consists of developers, scientists, engineers, researchers, and analysts that have served federal, state, and local government clients on high-consequence problems in analytics, biometrics, AI/machine learning, and forensic science for over 20 years. Our team is engaged across the identity intelligence community and has been instrumental in making our customers' programs successful in analytics, automation, and digital solutions spanning identity science, AI/machine learning, computer vision, biometrics, forensics, media analytics, systems engineering, software development/integration, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
Provide engineering and technical support in areas of design, development, engineering, research, evaluation, deployment, integration, and maintenance of software and systems.
Lead software deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities
Conduct design and code reviews, participate in daily scrums, retrospective, and other agile ceremonies
Coordinates with the development team to support QA/QC and troubleshooting activities
Provide assistance monitoring and resolving issues with deployed systems
Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) responsible for provisioning, configuring, and scaling infrastructure in cloud environments (MS Azure, AWS, etc.)
Build, maintain, and use monitoring and automated remediation systems (Grafana, Kibana, etc.)
Work with developer teams to update Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines as part of core software development activities (i.e. Jenkins, Gitlab, etc.)
Continuously improve performance of high traffic, high consequence Systems of Systems (SOS)
Routinely get exposed to and learn new technologies and platforms
Participate in and contribute daily agile development standups with one or more teams
Required skills and knowledge:
Master's degree in software engineering or related IT/Computer Science field and 5 years professional experience OR Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related IT/Computer Science field and 9 years professional experience
Active SECRET security clearance with ability to obtain a TS clearance
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Linux system administration, database management, DevOps, software development and engineering, and cloud-based technologies
Hands on experience with a broad range of technology systems and can work with:
Linux configuration management systems
Cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure
Any of the following configuration management systems: Ansible, Packer, Terraform
Monolithic and hybrid architectures and databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, RDBMS, NoSQL.
Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment systems: Jenkins, Gitlab, Bamboo
Version control systems such as git, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, and container orchestration platforms such as Docker.
Microservice architectures, software platforms and frameworks like Kafka, Redis, NiFi, and Ansible.
Hands on experience on the front-end, back-end, and/or full stack and can work some or all tasks across the software development lifecycle - from database, backend services, APIs, web frontend, migration/deployment scripts, tests, and documentation
Hands-on experience with writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration, stress, load, etc.)
Knowledge of networking protocols and the ability to troubleshoot OS networking issues
Desired skills and knowledge:
Experience installing and/or maintaining an Openstack environment
Ability to configure and troubleshoot networking equipment including switches, routers and other networking appliances
Advanced networking knowledge to include: proxy gateways, virtual networks, VPNs and routing
Ability to work across the stack and willingness to expand scope of software development experience by adapting and learning new methodologies and technologies
Working knowledge of Agile software development frameworks (Scrum and SAFe) and hands-on experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery practices
Desire to work in an agile and cross functional team environment, understand team goals and generate appropriate, innovative analytical insights to drive process and experience improvement
Experience with the following Atlassian products: Jira/Zephyr, Confluence, and Fisheye
