The purpose of this class is to architect, implement, maintain and provide overall management of the County's cloud computing strategy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design a cloud strategy and manage the adoption and implementation processes.

  • Play a strategic role in designing and maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage and management networks.

  • Develop and organize cloud systems, including application development, data management, and identity and access management.

  • Work in partnership with IT Security to monitor the company's cloud platform security.

  • Monitor cloud system performance.

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders to inform and collect information for both the technical and business sides of the cloud infrastructure.

  • Identify top cloud solutions to meet the County's strategic needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field or equivalent work experience.

  • Three to five years experience designing, executing, and supporting cloud solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • Proficiency in programming and coding languages.

  • Strong attention to detail with good communication and organizational skills.

  • Possess business acumen to work directly with elected officials and department heads.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

  • Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

  • The work is typically performed sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.

  • The work is typically performed in an office.

  • Emergency Preparedness Tier Level: 3

Special Certifications and Licenses:

  • Complete CJIS Awareness Training Level 4 every two years.
