The Cloud is one of the most innovative areas in computing today and the Cloud runs on Intel. The Software and Services Group at Intel is seeking an Application Engineer with a focus on Cloud Computing usages. Your responsibilities in this role will include characterization, performance analysis, and optimization of applications, foundational software stacks, and workloads in the Cloud. These usages represent Cloud paradigms that span the spectrum from IaaS and Paas to FaaS and SaaS. The ideal candidate should be a fast learner who can work with senior architects, has good communication skills, and has an innate desire to absorb new concepts in a fast-moving market.
This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.
Candidate must have a Master's or PHD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant discipline.
1 + year experience or equivalent coursework in the following areas:
Software stacks and how software and hardware work together.
Micro-architectures, especially Intel Architecture.
Experience with all levels of the software stacks, from hypervisors like Xen and KVM to open source application stacks like Cassandra, LAMP stacks, and Node.js.
Experience with profilers like Intel VTune and Perf.
