Clinician - Non-Invasive Cardiology

JOB SUMMARY

Noninvasive Cardiology is a comprehensive diagnostic testing area that provides inpatient and outpatient services to an adult and pediatric population, offering the following tests: Cardiac stress testing: (Pharmacological and Exercise Stress Echo), Transthoracic Echocardiogram; Electrocardiogram (ECG), Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), Cardioversions, Tilt Table Testing, and Endomyocardial Biopsies. Nurses provide direct patient care during TEE studies, working closely with the physician and the anesthesia team for conscious or moderate sedation and recovery. As a Non-Invasive Cardiology Nurse at Tampa General Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert care to patients with diverse cardiovascular conditions. The position involves working in a dynamic environment with a wide range of patient complexities, including but not limited to those with transplant, heart failure, VAD (ventricular assist device), level 1 trauma, stroke, and acute and chronic conditions. The unit thrives on interdisciplinary teamwork and collaborative care. Technology is a key component to our testing areas and nurses working in this unit have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of cardiac imaging and diagnostic testing in an academic setting.

Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention; formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

• Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida

• BSN required with one year of experience in a clinical area

• Cardiology experience required

• ACLS

• Leadership experience preferred (supervising, orienting, payroll, etc.)
