Chicago Public Schools (CPS) has established ambitious goals to ensure that every child in every school and every neighborhood has access to a world-class learning experience, resulting in graduation from high school college- and career-ready. The Talent Office supports this vision through a wide variety of initiatives and activities that focus on attracting, hiring, supporting, and retaining top talent for CPS' central office and more than 500 Pre-K-12 district-managed schools. In partnership with the Office of Student Health and Wellness & the Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services, our district is focused on providing the tools and resources to ensure that all students receive personalized services within a high quality public education that prepares them for success. Our district uses a data-driven approach to best support the needs of each individual student, and does so in compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education, including the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The Clinician Recruiter will be a part of the Talent Acquisition team that is responsible for building school based and city wide talent pipelines to better meet the needs of CPS schools. The Clinician Recruiter reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition, with the primary objective of developing and managing candidate pools to ensure full staffing of critical shortage areas and continuous support of nurses and related service providers in professional development and attaining additional credentials. This work is especially important, as we've publicly committed to adding at least 250 additional full-time nurse positions and social worker positions between now and 2024, so every CPS student has access to staff members providing a full continuum of care.
To fulfill this objective, the Clinician Recruiter will:
Proactively utilize sourcing techniques (including direct sourcing, internet data mining, search engines, networking, university and organization partnerships, employee referrals and other recruiting tactics) that attract candidates in order ensure staffing levels of 98% or better for clinically licensed staff, with an immediate emphasis on nurses.
Lead the full life cycle recruitment process such as job posting, screening, in-person interviewing, connecting hiring managers with candidates, and supporting hiring, staffing, and orientation of new staff year round, with a special emphasis on spring/early summer hiring to prepare for the first day of school.
Plan and execute recruiting events in partnership with the current recruitment team and hiring managers in multiple departments, including securing vendors, venues and materials and managing technology for effective presentation.
Collaborate across teams, including Talent, Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services, Office of Student Health and Wellness, Staffing, Budget and Benefits to support candidates and program partners in a clear, friendly and professional manner.
