Under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Supervisor, Program Director responsible for implementation of clients' treatment from the time of the referral and admission; formal and informal assessments; treatment planning and implementation; crises intervention to discharge planning and aftercare. Guides the work of counselors in a team based environment recommending counseling and training for counselors.
Coordinates treatment with all relevant resources. Provides clinical input and consults with Management Team regarding clinical activities including areas affecting program development and success, staff, training, licensure, and supervision. Advocates for the clients and the Villa in the community.
All work is performed within a systems-based framework using a psycho-educational and cognitive-behavioral model, adhering to the highest professional ethic standard and in compliance with St. Joseph's Villa's mission, values and guiding principles.
Conducts assessments for Services.
Oversees intake process, approve admissions, provides and/or supervises treatment, and assists in discharge planning
Provides supervision and training of staff within her/his program(s). Assists supervisor and treatment team in developing an effective team-base model approach.
In conjunction with director assist in maintaining statistical and evaluative data, preparation of monthly reports and other reports as required.
Maintains compliance of client service documentation. Ensuring all documentation are accurate and clinically sound from referral to discharge/aftercare.
Provides on-call support for agency and service.
Provides transportation for clients and their families when necessary in accordance with St. Joseph's Villa's transportation procedures.
Promotes good parent and community relations and appropriately assesses services in the community to support client needs.
Submits service authorizations and communicates actively with managed care organizations in order to advocate for client's and their clinical needs.
Participates as an active member in a team approach to the delivery of services to clients.
Monitors the implementation of individualized treatment planning and rapid discharge plans for all clients.
Provides one-on-one behavioral support services to clients experiencing a crisis jeopardizing their current placement.
Coordinates with management team to develop and present in-service trainings to improve staff competencies in clinical and therapeutic interventions.
Consults with management team when support through the Villa is not sufficient for the client and initiates the referral process. Supports management team through referrals to other community-based or individual support programs.
Meets with community agencies, physicians, schools, and mental health boards to advocate on behalf of the clients and the Villa.
Provides direction and support to interns to enhance their exposure to and experience with relevant client populations.
Ensures accurate and complete individual case records for clients in compliance with licensing and accreditation standards for best practice.
Works with all staff to ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutically sound environment.
Supports clients in special events such as holiday parties, fund-raisers and graduations.
Supervises daily activities of staff and interns working directly with clients such as teachers, youth counselors, case managers. Makes recommendations for their hiring, scheduling, training, discipline, promotion, or termination.
Treats all information in a confidential manner, complying with professional ethical standards, Villa policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
Evaluates work processes and methods; staffing levels, qualifications and training needs; and tools, equipment, and physical resources and submits recommendations for continuous quality improvement to management team or designee
Assumes responsibility for own professional development including meeting all mandated standards and staying abreast of developments within the field.
Assumes regular on-call responsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES -
Population: Children with significant mental health issues that meet the Medicaid eligibility criteria -children ranging from 5 to 17 years old.
Advocacy: Extensive coordination with family and external agencies
Areas of Specialization: Understanding of children and youth mental health issues and child development; Systemic Approach, CBCL, and Functional Behavioral Assessments
MS degree in human service related field. Must be eligible for Licensure.
Minimum 3 years experience with relevant population. Clinical assessment and treatment planning skills. Strong coordination skills with families and outside agencies.. Proficient with Windows, Outlook, internet research, MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with proprietary software preferred. Able to communicate well orally and in writing. Excellent documentation skills. Experience with Medicaid and staff training a plus.
