Roles &Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating and managingclinical research protocols, which may include projects from pharmaceuticalcompanies. Instructs staff regarding appropriate protocols; provides supportfor ongoing research projects and assists in staff oversight in day to dayactivity and instructions for each study.

  • Manages and coordinates assigned clinical trialresearch studies conducted by a principal investigator to ensure conformancewith specified research objectives and protocols

  • Coordinates and establishes clinical trialsschedules, task assignments and allocation of staff and equipment

  • Coordinates and manages all subjects enrolled inclinical trials, completion of data for Case Report Forms (CRF), drugaccountability and the completion and tracking of regulatory documents forclinical trials

  • Ensures clinical research studies are conductedaccording to regulatory requirements, good clinical practices and specifiedresearch protocols, including Mount Sinai School of Medicine, outside sponsorsand federal and/or state regulatory agencies

  • Serves as liaison for clinical trials conductedfor pharmaceutical companies. Provides status reports, adverse side effects andtrends, evaluates patient enrollment and provides appropriate recommendationsand/or conclusions

  • Monitors and reconciles the budget for allclinical trials; ensures payments from the sponsoring agency are received in atimely manner

  • Assists with the development of operatingpolicies and procedures for clinical trials; conducts meetings with staff toensure compliance with established practices and to keep employees abreast ofcurrent changes and standards

  • Organizes grant submissions and implementsstandard operating procedures for clinical monitoring. Manages and monitorssites involved in clinical trials including the recruitment and management ofsubjects

  • May assist in various personnel functions such ashiring, performance appraisals, coaching, disciplinary actions andterminations. Provides guidance and support to staff and orients and mentorsnew research team members

  • Performs other related duties

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Biology,Public Health or related scientific/health field; Masters preferred

  • Experience: 3 years of research experience with clinical trials exposure,1 year in a management/leadership role
