This highly analytical & technically proficient position supports the Clinical Trials organization to analyze large, complex clinical research data and conduct timely clinical trial financial reconciliation for all active clinical trials using various tools, systems & applications. The reconciliation requires the use of multiple systems/applications, necessitating the integration & analysis of a large volume of complex data from varied sources in support of the entire clinical trial portfolio. Strong logic, efficiency, a keen attention to detail and data verification skills are essential.
The Clinical Trials Financial Reconciliation Analyst is also responsible to provide a strong management process, including generating metrics/reports to demonstrate status & progress, both on an individual study basis and for the entire study portfolio. Position seeks to continuously improve/enhance processes & reporting. Given the size of the clinical trial portfolio, and financial impact to the organization, the ideal candidate must be able to effectively prioritize & execute tasks, seeking clarity when conflicts arise. Strong understanding of the linkage between system level details and the general ledger journal entries and associated account balances is necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Delivers ongoing timely & accurate Clinical Trials organization study-specific financial reconciliation in accordance with identified priorities.
Manages the end of study financial reconciliation process as an extension of the quarterly reporting; driving the end of study reconciliation to completion within a specified time frame.
Generates & presents metrics allowing for management oversight and prioritization.
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of complex MS Excel-based financial reconciliation tools that integrate with both DCR's CTMS and client-controlled EDC systems.
Via a phased approach, performs monthly study visit confirmation process (CTMS to EDC) that drives the accounting month end; seeks ways to optimize this process.
Works with DCR Finance team to meet an accelerated month-end close process.
Builds tools necessary to evaluate & monitor novel payment scenarios.
Supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, including standardized & systematized projects to scale best practices.

Bachelor's Degree - BS/BA in math / statistics, business or related field
2 or more years of professional/academic experience in an analytical/reporting type role
Demonstrated understanding of GAAP, particularly accrual accounting procedures (revenue recognition, invoicing, payments, etc.) is required
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ability to manipulate large quantities of data and produce graphs, charts, and tables is required
Experience working with Tableau, research databases (e.g. RAVE, Medidata), Clinical Trial Management Systems (particularly Clinical Conductor) is strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and with an ability to interpret and communicate analytical information to individuals and groups with varying levels of analytics expertise in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to present complex results and conclusions to non-technical audiences and to senior decision-makers.
Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-past ever changing environment.
Ability to manage confidential information and/or issues using strong discretion and judgment.
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required.
Ability to travel up 10% depending on business needs.
