Unity Center for Behavioral Health is a one-of-a-kind center for people facing a mental health crisis. Unity Center features a Psychiatric Emergency Service, where patients receive care by specialists in behavioral health in a calming, non-hospital-like setting.

Unity also has inpatient care for adults and teens. It is a collaboration be-tween Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health and Oregon Health & Science University.

Responsibilities

The Clinical Therapy Specialist is responsible for the development of excellence in clinical standards of practice and care and facilitating clinical expertise and clinical competency regarding the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) approach for behaviorally and emotionally challenging children and adolescents. The Specialist is a highly technically knowledgeable practitioner of CPS and provides support and consultation to both therapists and registered nurses.

The Specialist demonstrates a firm knowledge-base in CPS and develops, implements, and evaluates CPS interventions. The Specialist conducts and/or facilitates patient care consultations relative to CPS and provides resources to assess the impact and appropriateness of practice on patient outcomes. The Specialist is responsible for coordinating and teaching the CPS approach to therapists and nurses.

The Specialist coordinates the care of patients receiving treatment and is a consultant and educational resource for therapy and nursing staff, physicians, patients and their families, and the community. Leadership is provided in defining outcomes which are achieved through the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical paths for specific case types of patients.

Qualifications

Education: Masters or equivalent preferred; advanced CPS training conducted within the program or at large required. Bachelor's degree in child development, psychology, recreational therapy, or related field is required.

Experience: Minimum of two years post-graduate experience working in area of specialty.

One year of psychosocial experience is desirable. Clinical leadership and additional experience may be required in selected positions.

Pay Range

USD $31.68 - USD $45.29 /Hr.
