Purpose and Scope: The Clinical Technician III works under the direct supervision of the RN and is an active member of the health care team.
Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Clinical Technician performs a variety of routie duties involving the care of patients including performing direct patient care or activities of daily living, observing changes in the status of patients, providing a clean and safe environment, transporting patients, and other related duties. Clinical Technicians must be empathetic and have good communication and nursing skills to care for patients.
A. Academic: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
B. Experience: Minimum of one year of Clinical Technician II or equivalent Clinical experience as defined in the CORE skills for Clinical Technician III; or Minimum of one year Virginia Hospital Center Clinical Technician II who has successfully completed the Virginia Hospital Center Clinical Technician III education; or Completed a training program (i.e.
CNA, EMT) meeting CORE skills and competencies for Clinical Technician III; or Successfull completion of Virginia Hospital Center Nurse Externship Program. Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
C. Certification/License: BLS for Healthcare Provider required, CNA license preferred.
