Euclid Hospital's Emergency Department (ED) features 16 private beds and a customized split-flow process that allows for expedited patient care and reduced wait times. Caregivers in Euclid Hospital's ED provide care to all patient populations and work collaboratively to make each patient's visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Euclid Hospital's ED is focused on employee engagement, teamwork and caregiver collaboration. From the unit-based ED Council which guides clinical practice to the hospital-based Shared Governance teams that implement the latest evidence and innovation to the enterprise-wide education and training options, the opportunities for growth and development are endless.
A caregiver in this position works 3:00PM - 3:00AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, 3mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED.
Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience in the medical field.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
