JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Summary of the Job:

Serves as the key clinical IT resource for implementation and support of clinical applications. Primary responsibility will include support, troubleshooting issues, implementation testing, clinical workflow design, and end-user training for organization's core clinical system. Responsible for the efficient management and ongoing support of various clinical applications with regard to installation, implementation, conversions, training, staff development, system maintenance and end user support.

Minimum Qualifications:
Current licensure as an RN, LPN, or Ancillary Care Provider; or Computer Science or related Bachelor's degree with sufficient progressive clinical work experience in a healthcare environment.

Must have a clinical background with strong computer and problem solving skills. Understand pertinent JCAHO, MQSA, HIPAA, and ACR guidelines. Experience using, developing or implementing a clinical application is a plus.

Must understand clinical workflow and medical data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills.

Three or more years of experience supporting various information systems and applications with responsibility for clinical applications support and end user training desired. Preferred clinical application is Epic.

Ability to establish and build strong relationships with users and departments. Capable of analyzing department needs then implementing and modifying clinical applications to meet departmental needs.

Ability to logically analyze problems and effect solutions. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in matters related to information systems. Ability to train others.

Works in a collaborative fashion with Physicians, Nurse Managers, and staff to achieve quality patient care. Working knowledge of general Hospital operations and Hospital procedures. Demonstrated skills with computer systems including word processing, spreadsheet software, project management, and reporting tools is desired. Demonstrated knowledge of computer terminology and its application in a healthcare environment.

Physical Demands:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting up to 10 pounds is required.

Frequently (34%-66%)- NONE

Occasionally (1%-33%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching
