DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Serves on teams that include project management, analytic, and technical staff.
Develops prototypes and structures that demonstrate advanced nursing concepts. Develops specifications including object models, written descriptions of functionality, and mock-ups of screen design to aid in clinical system implementation.
Performs and documents clinical workflow pre and post system implementation.
Provides nursing informatics expertise. In general, stays abreast and keeps key constituencies informed of the latest developments and innovations in nursing and medical informatics. Services as a repository of knowledge regarding clinical computing issues; provides expertise about the state of the art of clinical information systems.
Monitors ongoing clinical IS projects insuring adherence to established timetables. Prepares course documentation, along with training coordinator, and helps facilitate the training of both new and current applications. Participates in on call support for various clinical systems including over weekends and off shifts.
Receives and responds to and insures the timely and effective resolution of any and all clinical systems problems. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: College degree required.
BS in Nursing preferred Experience: Willingness to actively participate in a large complex project. Experience with computer-based nursing applications desirable.
Several years clinical experience in the acute and or ambulatory care setting. Experience with clinical documentation applications. Ability to interact with clinical staff at all levels in a health care organization. Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services a plus.
