Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Support Supervisor supports high quality, patient-centered care by autonomously directing, and providing feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses that are transitioning to a new specialty. The Clinical Support Supervisor supports multiple units. The Clinical Support Supervisor provides direction, accountability and education on the hospital's standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.

What you will do in this role:

• Performs rounds on each nursing unit.

• Observes and assesses the quality of patient care being delivered.

• Identify nursing educational needs.

• Escalate concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.

• Ensure that nurses within scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor's degree required

• Master's degree in Nursing or Related Field preferred

• 3+ years of experience in relevant work experience required

• 1+ year(s) of experience in a leadership role preferred

• 1+ year(s) of experience in a preceptor preferred

• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

• Preceptor Training required

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required

• Business Emergency Response Training (BERT) required

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center.
