General Summary of Duties: The Clinical Supervisor provides supervision of the day-to-day operations Bremerton School District and KMHS School Based Programs. Ensures that program goals are established and being met, that appropriate levels of services are being provided to consumers, and facilitate continuity of care for consumers. The Clinical Supervisor assumes primary clinical responsibility for the provision of services and supervision of program staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities: BSD Therapists and Behavioral Interventionists.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for the future direction of the Bremerton School District Day Treatment Programs. Oversee formulation of program goals, clarify the theoretical framework which guides treatment and establish criteria for admission into the programs.

  • Facilitate the ongoing development and implementation of the programs schedules; assuring the development of programs that meet the emotional, developmental, and educational needs of consumers. Insure appropriate levels of staffing to carry out program activities.

  • Ensure the provision of individual, family, and/or group therapy services as necessary to make certain that all consumers have access to ongoing, coordinated behavioral health services.

  • Provide clinical direction and supervision for school program staff.

  • Attend to the maintenance of positive staff morale and teamwork; providing opportunities for training, team building, or other activities that contribute to the establishment of a positive, supportive, and therapeutic environment. Attend to personnel issues as they arise.

  • Work directly with the other KMHS C&F program staff, and with school district personnel in the triage of program referrals.

  • Provide back-up crisis intervention/emergency support to KMHS school programs and staff. Provide in-program coverage as needed to assure appropriate levels of staffing or supervision and maintenance of program activities.

  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with KMHS programs, school district personnel, and other public or private agencies, to provide an essential level of care for consumers and to further enhance the overall mission and goals of the agency.

  • Provide or ensure the provision of reports to agency administrators, county, state or federal authorities as required. Monitor the adherence of contracts. Ensure that all necessary paperwork for clinical, financial, and/or statistical purposes is fully completed in an accurate and timely manner including the completion of annual performance reviews for program staff.

  • Provide consultation, education, and/or training as needed to KMHS staff, school personnel, or designated others regarding the KMHS school programs, clinical issues related to emotionally troubled youth and families, or issues related to continuity of care for consumers.

  • Assume primary responsibility for development of annual budget requirements for specified school programs; monitor and maintain a balanced budget.

  • Participate in meetings/committees within KMHS and in the community as needed.

  • Recruit, hire, and develop qualified staff including ongoing coaching and conducting performance appraisals.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.

EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500. Child Mental Health Specialist.

Food handler's Permit

Preferred Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: Expert (established subject matter expert, 7+ years of experience)

Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, or substance abuse treatment. Experience with administration and program development. At least two years of previous experience as a supervisor.

LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC).

  • Maintain a working knowledge of mental health rehabilitation standards.

  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices

  • Demonstrated experience working with youth with complex mental health needs.

  • Demonstrated experience providing direct service to individuals living in poverty with complex needs.

  • Demonstrated experience working with partner agencies toward a shared goal.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.

Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the job duties, the employee is required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, or listen. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
