Brief Position Overview

  • THIS IS AN INTERNAL POSTING ONLY! *The Clinical Supervisor has the primary responsibility of supervising the SHS clinical mental health staff to include licensed/licensure eligible counselors as well as clinical, grad student interns. The Clinical Supervisor will advise clinical staff regarding student/client counseling services and case management and may be asked to work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and wellness providers on behalf of students in an integrated behavioral health setting. The Clinical Supervisor will also be the primary administrator of the clinical mental health electronic health records system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • THIS IS AN INTERNAL POSTING ONLY! *DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be the lead clinician of a clinical staff that provides individual, group, and couples psychotherapy in accordance with MT state law, professional ethics, and community standards.
Supervise, develop, and evaluate counseling team members.
Provide supervision for clinical interns toward grad program completion and state licensure.
Work with a multi-disciplinary team in an integrated healthcare setting.
Provide and supervise crisis counseling during business hours.
Be the system administrator for the clinical mental health EHR.
Monitor thorough and timely clinical documentation using the EHR.
Supervise and monitor data sharing with the Collegiate Center for Mental health via the EHR.
Coordinate, provide, and supervise counseling services as requested by MSUB faculty and staff.
Direct Counseling Service's participation in the SHS accreditation process.
Serve on committees, work teams, task forces, etc. as requested by the Director of SHS.
Engage in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals and objectives as they align with the MSUB Strategic Plan.
Other duties as assigned.

Professional demeanor capable of working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team.
Leadership skills and a willingness and ability to mentor beginning counselors

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light lifting and physical demands.
Mobility across campus including walking short distances and the possibility of navigating stairs, ramps, elevators, and hilly areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Education Required:
Minimum of a master's degree in clinical counseling, clinical social work, clinical psychology, or psychiatric medicine.

Experience Required:

Montana state licensure being any or either of the following: LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, licensed clinical psychology or licensed and board certified psychiatrist.
Either have been licensed in MT in respective discipline for three years or have taken board approved training consisting of a minimum of one semester credit graduate education focused on supervision or 20 hours of board-approved training in supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Experience Preferred:
At least two years of post-licensure counseling experience.
Experience working in a college counseling center.
Experience working with an electronic health care system.
Past career leadership or supervisory experience.
