Job Summary:

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Site Manager in providing overall leadership and direction for the site or areas of responsibility, and for creating an environment that fosters collaboration among the team to achieve operational and clinical excellence. This will be achieved through the following activities:

Participates in the selection and development of staff to achieve high performance; performs all probationary and annual evaluations; works collaboratively with Providers and Clinical Manager to develop methods for improving the quality of care; works collaboratively with site leadership to achieve quality, fiscal and patient experience goals and expectations. The Clinical Supervisor assumes responsibility and accountability for the quality of clinical support staff activities and staff functions during the shift. Effectively onboard, train, and direct clinical support personnel and utilizes time, equipment and other site resources to ensure the daily operation of the site.

Continually assesses care, monitors site operations, and directs staff to make immediate changes to accommodate patient needs. Performs direct patient care, only when necessary, and within scope of practice and license. Supervises the clinical staff and creates an environment that fosters patient satisfaction. Oversees and coordinates patient care safety and compliance, and works hand in hand with Providers and clinical staff to achieve quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform various levels of clinical skills including patient care and assessment and preparation of numerous office procedures.

  • Possesses good communication skills with patients, staff and providers, giving instructions and support as indicated.

  • Able to triage patient calls, organize and delegate all telephone, fax and e-mail communication.

  • Possess current CPR and TST certification, or ability to re-new.

  • Demonstrates a functional and technical understanding of EMR systems and protocol.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

Current Indiana LPN or RN license.

Education:

Graduation from a Nursing Program.

Work Experience:

At least two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting with proof of leadership skills and history of supervising staff preferred.
