Coordinates staffing of clinical personnel for the nursing departments and provides administrative support to the Director of Nursing and Nurse Managers. Responsible for the data entry and management of time and attendance for the nursing department in a live computer environment. Accountable for the coordination of the staffing process to provide nursing department staff assigned to patient care areas 24 hours per day, 7 days a week within established guidelines.

Participates in the design and timely publishing of employee work schedules as designated. Responsible for the data entry and management of time and attendance for the nursing department in a live computer environment. Must have excellent organizational skills, strong customer service skills, and the ability to interact with various levels of employees throughout the organization.

Requires excellent ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with hospital staff. This position requires experience using telephones with multiple lines, and the ability to multi-task on several calls while maintaining the utmost professionalism and patience in stressful situations. The Central Staffing Associate must also be a resourceful problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Must have strong organizational, prioritization and interpersonal skills with high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and be a great multi-tasker. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision while being competent in knowing, understanding and articulating system policies and processes. Standard work hours are days and evenings that fluctuate to meet the needs of the hospital; every day including weekends and holidays.

Flexibility required. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma, or GED with Associate degree in health/medical/science.

Must have English skills including the ability to read, write, and verbally communicate with others. Minimum of two years of office environment with healthcare experience and medical terminology required. A combination of education and experience with advanced computer skills in usage, navigation and working web-based applications such as Google.

Demonstrates proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, web-based applications and computer databases. The ability to use common office equipment such as fax machines, scanning documents and copiers, are required. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer knowledge maintaining and working employee databases such as: API, Kronos or Cemer.
