Good Shepherd is excited to add a Clinical Specialist in Robotics role to work in the Fleming Center for Robotics & Rehabilitation! In this role, the Clinical Specialist will implement advanced robotic technologies to improve patient outcomes. This individual will work in an interdisciplinary environment to educate and train colleagues on robotic technologies and new devices, as well as perform research. To qualify for the position, you must have one of the following licenses: PT, PTA, OTR, or COTA. Previous clinical and robotics experience is strongly preferred.
Job Summary:
In collaboration with Good Shepherd Learns, Creates, and Research, the Robotics Clinical Specialist will assist in the development of the Fleming Center for Robotics and Rehabilitation by spearheading the introduction, adoption, and implementation of advanced robotic technologies throughout Good Shepherd Rehabilitation. The incumbent will play a lead role in promoting and advancing robotic technologies that enhance clinical practice and improve patient outcomes. They will influence the selection of new robotic devices, lead clinical implementation and sustainability efforts, and ensure optimal utilization of these technologies throughout the network. This individual will serve as the primary clinical expert in robotics for the organization and educate others on upcoming device releases. Through internal and external collaboration, they will disseminate new knowledge acquired through research to internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, incumbent is targeted to spend approximately 50% of their time in clinical work with patients and 50% of their time completing administrative tasks related to their role as a Robotic Clinical Specialist.
Essential Functions:
Spearhead The Implementation of Technologies As Part Of The Fleming Center For Robotics And Rehabilitation
Continuously advances knowledge of up-to-date research, industry developments, and best practice for robotics in rehabilitation
Assists in the identification and evaluation of emerging robotic technologies
Designs and leads peer training, including the development of training materials/schedules and competencies, and provides ongoing mentorship to peer trainees
Develops clinical practice standards to ensure best-practice and maximization of patient outcomes
Utilizes robotic technologies with patients and research participants
Identifies novel application of robotic technologies to clinical practice
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and relevant partners to improve and advance clinical application of robotic technologies
Participates in the design and implementation of research as it relates to robotics in rehabilitation
Advances practice by disseminating knowledge gained through research to internal and external audiences
Completes quantitative program assessment, including but not limited to usage metrics, patient outcomes, and impact on patient experience
Collaborates with multiple stakeholders across a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful clinical integrations of robotics, maximized utilization, and the advancing of clinical outcomes
Supports regulatory standards surrounding the implementation, use, and research of clinical
Assist in the convergence of clinical technology and Empower+ through development of exhibits, presentations, and/or community events
