The Department of Psychology at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a 10-month, non-tenure-track Clinical Specialist position in Biopsychology, to join our community starting in August 2025. The position is offered for an initial two-year appointment, with potential for renewal for a second two-year appointment and subsequent three-year appointments based on performance.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will teach existing courses in the Department of Psychology's curriculum and potentially develop courses based on their area(s) of expertise. We seek a colleague with the expertise to teach our courses in our Research Methods and Biopsychology areas, particularly Methods & Tools of Psychology, (PSY121), Design & Statistical Analysis (PSY203), Biopsychology (PSY212), and upper-level Biopsychology seminars on specialized topics (e.g., clinical psychopharmacology, animal behavior, behavioral pharmacology and substance use). The standard teaching load is 4/4, with the potential to reduce to a 3/4 with advising of Psychology majors.

We are interested in candidates whose research and teaching will connect and integrate with other disciplines and who have the potential to collaboratively contribute to interdisciplinary curricular and scholarly efforts.

Qualifications:

Applicants should:

● Have a minimum of a completed Master's degree in Biopsychology, Neuroscience, or a closely-related field.

● Demonstrate cultural competency and ability to foster inclusive learning environments and mutual respect for students and colleagues.

Preferred qualifications

● At least 3 years of experience teaching undergraduate Psychology courses as the instructor of record.
