Brainlab is currently recruiting a Clinical Specialist in the Surgery Business
working in Pensacola, FL or Mobile, AL.

Job: Clinical Specialists work with client's physicians and other medical
personnel to provide clinical guidance and product support in real time during


Provide on-site consulting, guidance and assistance to physicians and OR
personnel by evaluating options and problem-solving during surgery in order to
maximize IGS (Image Guided Surgery) product efficiency and usage
Analyze, resolve and repair product issues through detailed analysis and
utilization of engineering expertise
Direct and assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to
Educate/train physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff,
Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical and Information Technologies
staff, on the use of IGS products and services
Develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff enabling them to
implement in-house training
Act as primary customer liaison, maintaining contact with customer,
assessing satisfaction and usage levels, and working to increase revenue via the
sale of spare parts, upgrades, etc.
Work closely with the Senior Application Consultant, Area Account Manager,
Key Account Manager and Marketing Manager on market transparency, upgrade
initiatives and R&D projects
Utilize engineering expertise to contribute to the quality improvement
process by recommending product modifications
Attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote IGS products and
Keep abreast of developments regarding Brainlab and competitive IGS products
and services via ongoing training and individual research and analysis
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Required Experience:

B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Bioengineering,
Clinical Engineering, or Nursing required
1-3 years experience in a technical support role preferably for a healthcare
company or Provider
1-2 years sales experience with healthcare company preferred
Knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy and medical terminology preferred
Proficient in the use of PC software applications including Microsoft Office
Self-motivated, detail oriented and a proven history of ability to make
independent decisions

Position Summary: Responsible for participating in training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of assigned Patient Management System (PMS) across the Covenant Hospice organization. The CIS-1 is responsible for facilitating communication from the clinical end users across the patient care departments while working collaboratively and directly with management, information services, finance, and external parties. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: * Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines * Experience or formal training in adult education. * Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, and software vendor * Must be able to demonstrate well developed and proven organizational, problem solving, analytical, customer service and oral and written communication skills * Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities * Recognized as a formal or informal leader by their constituency * Able to maintain an open and positive perspective. * Functions as a change agent - is not threatened or intimidated by change and uncertainty * Works successfully in a team environment Preferred: * Graduation from an accredited college as a registered nurse * Sound working knowledge of computer applications and the operation of audiovisual equipment * Prior experience implementing information systems with clinical information system experience * Advanced degree or certification in informatics. EXPERIENCE: * Three years of clinical experience required * 4-6 years experience with personal computers * Working knowledge of network systems * Documented experience in training or leading adult education in formal or informal setting OTHER: * Professional interpersonal skills * Clear verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrates creativity and self-directive manner * Can work independently with minimal supervision and is able to work effectively as a team member and team leader * Able to integrate goals, mission, and vision of organization into educational programs * Ability to independently research, develop, critique and provide educational offerings Job Relations Reports to: Director, Business Sytems COMMUNICATIONS: * Position requires continual communication and coordination with clinical support teams and the Information Systems Department * Position requires frequent communications with department personnel and department heads to include but is not limited to development, training, implementation, staff progress, support and remediation needs * Position requires dialogue with other entities in the organization, clinics, physicians, and students regarding computer training needs Main Duties and Responsibilities Communicates with all areas that interface with clinical services in relation to automated information systems. Leads ongoing design, upgrade, and maintenance of clinical services. Conducts and facilitates clinical computer applications training. Assists managers in establishing educational goals and plans regarding clinical or business computer applications for the department, for a specific group of employees, or a single employee with educational needs. Utilizes adult education principles and creative teaching strategies in developing content. Assists the Corporate Education Department in responsibilities including but not limited to the planning, development, and implementation of mandatory computer education, trends/analysis, outcome studies, compliance projects, physician education, and other education opportunities appropriate to experience and expertise. Assesses compliance of PMS with policy, procedure, and timelines in ongoing Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities. Evaluates the effectiveness/efficiency of automated clinical management solutions. Participates in "On Call Technical Support" rotation to address staff needs involving the Patient Management System. Maintains a detailed understanding and working knowledge of the current information systems within the enterprise. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in their clinical field and in health care informatics, as well as new developments in hardware and software technology. Collaborates with Information Services and Patient Accounting as needed re: development, testing, and implementation of clinical computer applications and other information systems. Participates in planning activities related to future direction of information systems that involve end-user and end-user feedback. Participates in assigned functional team(s) and committees as directed. Networks with other CIS's within the region, state, and/or nation as directed. Networks with other clients of current vendor of Patient Management System, as directed Promotes the values, goals and objectives of the department and hospice.
