Position Summary:
Under the clinical supervision of the Department of Psychiatry's Integrated Behavioral Health team, the Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician will work as a member of the Center for Infection Diseases (CID) Clinic. The CID practice provides comprehensive services in all areas of infection diseases, with particular expertise in HIV/AIDS. The role of the clinician is to work collaboratively with the Infectious Disease team to ensure that the behavioral health and substance use needs of the patients are met. The clinician will have knowledge or experience working with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+, Sexual Health, and Substance Use. The clinician will support the ReCOVer Long COVID clinic embedded in CID. The ReCOVer clinic provides comprehensive care to patients who have COVID-19 symptoms for more than four weeks after recovering from initial infection. The clinician will provide assessments and behavioral health treatment to patients experiencing behavioral health symptoms secondary to COVID. Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting psychosocial assessments, crisis interventions, leading groups, formulating psychosocial diagnoses and treatment plans, and implementing effective treatments for patients and family members. The clinician will also provide education/teaching regarding behavioral health conditions and treatment to CID providers and staff.

Requirements
Requires Master's Degree from an accredited school of Social Work or mental health counseling and experience with trauma-informed care
Requires a Massachusetts license as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or obtain LCSW or LMHC within 6 months of hire date.
Previous experience in Integrated Behavioral Health or Medical Setting preferred.
Previous experience with infectious disease, LGBTQ+, and substance use preferred
Requires level of knowledge of Social Work process and community resources and agencies in relation to health, illness, and disability, and social determinants of health
Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals, to develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations. Cultural competence is very important. Bicultural/Bilingual competency a plus.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Computer literacy with ability to use standard word processing, spreadsheet programs and e-mail (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and web browsers.
Must be comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic work environment (sense of humor is valued).
Other Responsibilities:
Attendance at IBH and Psychiatry meetings and in-service education program offerings through the Department of Psychiatry
Attendance at Infectious Disease meetings under the direction of supervisor
Obtaining continuing education as necessary to maintain licensure
Utilizes hospital's behavioral standards as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the hospital's mission.
Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures.
Maintains patient confidentiality according to hospital policy. Practices professional discretion when determining the inclusion of any patient information into medical record or department clinical record notes.
Documents each patient encounter in the medical record or the Department clinical record concurrently according to Department policies
Performs other duties as needed.
May be requested to provide coverage in other clinics as assigned

EDUCATION:
