Clinical Social Worker 1

The Position

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) has an opening for a Clinical Social Worker 1 in the Outpatient Clinic. Applicants must have an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

The position requires a working knowledge of theories/principles of counseling and psychotherapy; symptoms, characteristics and treatment of mental illness, emotional and behavioral disorders; crises intervention techniques; case management practices and procedures; psycho-diagnostic techniques; laws governing abuse and neglect of clients. Ability to assess, develop and implement treatment plans and goals; write comprehensive evaluations, reports, and recommendations. Will coordinate and obtain community services for clients, actively participate on the treatment team and provide crisis intervention.

Emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, formulating individualized treatment plans that lead to self-sufficiency. Ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies.
