Clinical Services Director Greater Houston Area

(Regional Nurse Consultant)

Fundamental Clinical & Operational Services, LLC, is seeking a talented Clinical Services Director (Regional Nurse Consultant) to provide consultation and support to a number of client skilled nursing facilities in the Greater Houston Area. Use your long term care expertise to consult/train/troubleshoot!

Responsibilities:

Responsible for assisting assigned facilities to comply with appropriate state, federal guidelines/regulations, in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Works with all facility departments to assist in planning, implementing and evaluating patient/resident centered programming. Assists facilities with the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director and motivator. Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively.

  • Five years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a long term care environment

Previous Nurse Consultant experience highly preferred.

  • Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) , BSN preferred with a valid TX RN license.

Must be able to travel extensively by air and personal automobile. Facilities located in Greater Houston area and Central Texas Must live in the Houston area.

Overnight travel will be required.

Plans, Organizes, coordinates and directs the housekeeping of the hospital. Provides guidelines, set priorities and goals for the Housekeeping organization. Does risk assessment for the group and maintains knowledge of joint commission standards and requirements while keeping the facility compliant in applicable areas. Budget development and administration along with staff planning, hiring, development and management. Prepare financial and manpower budget for both immediate and long term planning. Ensures a competent and motivated staff. Hires and completes performance reviews on staff. Does manpower planning and determines where to assign staff to meet strategic needs. Recommends and completes hiring and promotional process and approves department merit budget. Reviews personnel issues. Make recommendations for equipment repair and replacement and then executing the approved strategic plan. Implements effective work practices to reduce risk of infection caused by surface contamination. Implements an integrated waste management program including infectious and biohazardous waste disposal, recycling and waste prevention programs.. Exercise budget control within +/- 2%. Coordinates with Facilities Directors and Clinical personnel to support the multidisciplinary mission of MD Anderson Cancer Center. Must monitor, evaluate and modify work activities to ensure quality, efficiency and strategic patient throughput. Demonstrate leadership and collaboration along with strong written and oral communication skills. Serves on various Institutional committees. Develops and implements Service level agreements with clients and other internal groups. Other duties as assigned. Required: Bachelor's degree. Seven years of environmental services experience to include three years in a supervisory/management capacity. Preferred: Master's Level Degree. Experience in an academic medical center or other Institution of similar complexity.
