Cascade Medical, located in beautiful downtown Leavenworth in the Cascade foothills of Central Washington, has an opening for two full-time Clinical Resource RNs to work day shift in our Acute Care and Emergency Departments. NOTE: Preference will be given first to internal WSNA members.
The Clinical Resource Nurse is responsible for providing quality patient care while maintaining Standards of Professional Nursing involving assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position is also responsible for effectively interacting with patients, families and other health team members while coordinating, directing and leading the activities of nursing staff.
Average work week will be 36 hours (0.9 FTE). Work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and days of the week (including weekend shifts) will be determined.
Duties (which are not all inclusive):
Accountable for patient flow and for ensuring adequate staffing schedules are sustained.
Takes the lead in troubleshooting problems and issues impacting nursing care during assigned shift and provides an overview of solutions and/or corrective action plans initiated.
Functions in the capacity of an RN by providing care to patients in Acute Care, Swing Bed and Emergency Department.
Coordinates, directs and leads the activities of nursing staff and other medical personnel while on duty.
Demonstrates positive behavior reflective of their interest in the work to be performed and in line with CM's Shared Values.
Builds professional and positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, visitors, and staff.
Leads daily huddles, participates in nurse-to-nurse report and bedside handoffs.
In partnership with other CRNs and the Director of Nursing, actively participates in nursing leadership meetings, data extrapolation for core quality indicators, infection prevention monitoring activities, clinical documentation audits and policy development, and assists in the implementation of changes within areas of accountability. Performs administrative and quality assurance/improvement functions.
Applies principles of occupational safety in daily work. Ensures safety checks and environmental rounds are completed daily and follows up as needed.
Assists in new staff orientation.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN desired.
Current nursing licensure from the Washington State Board of Nursing.
A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an Acute Care setting plus 3 years of experience in an Emergency Department, ICU or critical care setting.
Previous Charge Nurse or mid-management experience preferred.
Must be current in BLS, ACLS, TNCC; and ENPC or PALS. CEN or CCRN preferred.
Must possess demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of personnel, patients and their families, and community members.
Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of a medical center and its operations.
Leadership and problem-solving skills required.
