Roles & Responsibilities:
Oversight of clinical research projects within adepartment or division. Assists the Principal Investigator in preparing andnegotiating clinical trials budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops, implements and evaluates standards ofcare of professional practice in collaboration with members of the health careteam and in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory agenciesrequirements
Provides and manages the necessary human andmaterial resources for the provision of safe, high quality patient care
Coordinates care delivery and the assignment ofstaff based upon identified patient care needs and clinical competency foroptimal unit operations
Collaborates with members of the health care teamin program development, consultation, and the planning and delivery of patientcare
Facilitates timely and responsive communicationand proactive, responsible decision making
Assures availability of human and materialresources for safe, competent, and effective patient delivery
Develops and implements ongoing qualityimprovement activities
Identifies, responds to and investigatespotential and actual risk management issues
Practices prudent fiscal management
Manages human resources, inclusive ofrecruitment, hiring, evaluation, retention, progressive discipline andtermination
Promotes positive consumer interactions andupholds the Patient Bill of Rights
Develops and maintains systems which supportefficient and effective functioning of designated clinical areas
Must have a demonstrated clinical competence inarea of nursing practice
Demonstrated ability or potential managerialcompetency, including financial management
Evidence of excellent interpersonalrelationships, effective communication skills, ability to problem-solve,ability to motivate, develop, and coach individuals and groups, ability toappropriately confront issues, and ability to think creatively. A strongcommitment to furthering institutional goals through interdisciplinary teamworkis essential
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
5 years' related experience in a hospital/medicalenvironment
2 years' supervisory experience
New York State RN License or Certified Physician Assistant
Understanding of clinical research management andSOPs
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated clinical competence in nursingpractice
Experience in financial management preferred
Ability to motivate, develop and coach individuals
