Job Summary:

The UW Health Lung Transplant team has been saving lives for more than 30 years. We are recruiting a lung transplant research coordinator to join our team.

The successful candidate will work with our lung transplant physicians, APPs and coordinators, to implement and coordinate clinical trials and clinical research. The coordinator will directly interact with patients, obtain informed consent, answer research related questions, coordinate sample acquisition and processing, and collect/record clinical data.

UW Health has a robust program in lung transplantation. This position is for a lung transplant research coordinator who will work within the lung transplant team to conduct clinical research.

It involves working with other lung transplant coordinators to arrange time to meet with patients, consent them for lung transplant related investigations and answer research related questions. After enrollment, providing study coordination and maintaining study logs, obtaining sample acquisition at pre-specified times, work with data coordinators to obtain the relevant clinic data.

The successful candidate will have advanced patient-facing communication skills, preferably experience with clinical human subjects research and working with the electronic health record, and will be a self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented problem solver who is both able to work independently and contribute to team science.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Excellent knowledge of basic software, excel, word, Microsoft office.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to perform routine tasks independently.

Preferred:

  • 1 year of experience in a clinical/biological research or health care setting.

  • Experience with Redcap

  • Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record systems.

  • Experience in phlebotomy or willingness to be trained in phlebotomy

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $45,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to perform routine tasks independently.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
