Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our site in Chicago, IL!

Role Responsibility

  • Conducts clinical studies according to FDA/GCP and ICH regulations and guidelines.

  • Provides medical care to patients, always ensuring patient safety comes first.

  • Performs all defined study activities (i.e, informed consent, screening, and protocol procedures which include but not limited to vital signs, pregnancy tests, height, weight, ECG's, etc.).

  • Records all patient information and results from tests as per protocol on required forms.

  • Where required, may complete IP accountability logs and associated information.

  • Reports suspected non-compliance to relevant site staff.

  • Ensures that IRB approval is obtained prior to study initiation and IRB requirements are met throughout the study.

  • Promotes the company and builds a positive relationship with patients to ensure retention.

  • Attends site initiation meetings and all other relevant meetings to receive training on protocol.

  • May be required to call patients, do patient bookings and follow-up calls to confirm bookings or provide information or results.

  • Logs/completes information on sponsor systems and ensures all information provided is accurate (i.e., case report forms, EDC, etc.) and ensures it is completed within timeframe.

  • Gathers source documents, updates patient files and notes, always ensuring relevant and most up to date information is recorded.

  • Adheres to company COP/SCOP.

  • May be required to dispose of waste according to standards and assist in keeping a general neat appearance of the facility.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification in the clinical / medical field

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 2 years'). In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

  • Basic understanding of the clinical research process (i.e., GCP, SOPs, informed consent, safety monitoring, etc.)

  • Capable of working independently, analyzing and working with attention to detail, processing and prioritizing sensitive complex information and problem solving

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and sound judgement

  • Adequate decision-making, negotiation and influencing skills

  • Decent communication skills and English fluency will be an advantage

  • Decent organizational skills

  • Essential proficiency in basic computer applications

  • Decent interpersonal skills to work in a team environment

Department 2010053 BSD Senior Administration About the Unit The Duchossois Family Institute (DFI) investigates the role of the microbiome in resistance and susceptibility to infectious, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The microbiome consists of complex populations of microbes that can be characterized by DNA and RNA sequencing. This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grant funding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the contract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grant funds and satisfactory job performance. Job Family Research Responsible for all aspects of research projects and research facilities. Plans and conducts clinical and non-clinical research; facilitates and monitors daily activities of clinical trials or research projects. Directs engineering and technical support activities to develop and maintain tools and computational methods needed to gather and analyze data. Career Track and Job Level Clinical Research Manages, facilitates, and monitors the daily activities of clinical research and clinical trials. Performs a variety of duties involved in the collection, documentation, analysis and reporting of clinical research and clinical trial data. Manages the strategic, administrative, operational, and financial decisions that impact clinical research and clinical trials conducted across the University. Role Impact Individual Contributor Responsibilities The job compiles, documents, analyzes, and reports on clinical research data. Provides input to support the strategic, administrative, operational, and financial decisions that impact clinical research conducted across the University. 1) Analyzes, facilitates and participates in the daily activities of multiple moderately complex clinical trials and performs all aspects of clinical data management, including patient data retrieval, referring MD office records, preparing clinical research charts, and participation in program audits., 2) Prepares program conference lists for multidisciplinary conferences and workshops. Participates in all pharmaceutical site visits. Uses moderate understanding of clinical trials to collect and store patient specimens, radiology scans and reports., 3) Solves a range of straightforward problems relating to the administration of the compliance, financial and other related aspects of a clinical study., 4) Interprets the data needed for insurance submissions. Gathers pre-testing results if obtained at an outside facility., 5) Performs other related work as needed.
