Position Summary:

This role supports a data acquisition function through the coordination of activities that capture data from the CIMBTR network.


  • Defines clinical data elements in consultation with scientific program directors and manages how the data is sourced and captured through the internal FormsNet application as well as other data capture methods.

  • Primary function is to support accurate data capture and submission through coordinated activities with the CIBMTR network.

  • Works with product owners of FormsNet to establish and conduct acceptance testing for validation of data integrity.

  • Leads special projects as assigned providing project management and coordination.

  • Assists in the training of new staff and developing manuals, SOP's, and other training documents.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

  • FormsNet or similar research database, registries using electronic data capture systems.

  • Microsoft Suite of products.

  • Clinical/Medical terminology to interpret concepts, metrics, data elements, clinical outcome reporting, scientific literature and other public domain reporting.

Ability to:

  • Work in cross functional teams and matrixed organizations.

  • Manage multiple deadlines and priorities will ensuring quality and timeliness.

  • Demonstrate complex problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making, and negotiation skills.

  • Communicate technical/clinical information and their concepts in a variety of formats physicians, scientists, clinical staff, data managers and other associated roles where this role intersects.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders and team members specifically where coordination tasks are required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in health care or science related field.

  • Four years of experience in medical records charting, abstracting data from medical record charts or monitoring medical research data.

  • Three years of leadership experience within defined projects, onboarding/training among peer roles, internal/external customers, or leading self-directed teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in health care or science related field.

  • Knowledge of blood and marrow transplant clinical research and medical field.

  • Quality improvement coursework specific to data operations.

Cares for the animals used in research and development studies. Performs duties related to the maintenance of experimental animals such as feeding and caring for animals, cleaning cages, holding animals for treatment by laboratory technician or maintaining inventory and animal identification records. Performs cleaning/sanitation of animal facility and equipment. Responsible for biosafety and biosecurity of the animals. May partner with preclinical investigators to assist and support veterinarians with surgery, dosing, postop care and monitoring of animal studies. TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM: Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes. DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS Autonomy: Seasoned individual contributor, working under limited supervision, and providing assistance and training to lower level employees. Runs minor projects, including performing tests, interpreting data, developing reports. Organizational Impact: Performs technical activities requiring considerable judgment and may have ownership of minor projects. Work consists of technical tasks that are typically not routine. Innovation and Complexity: Technical problems faced are general, and may require some analysis to understand and resolve. Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for supervisor review. Communication and Influence: Communicates typically with internal contacts . Obtains and provides technical information on matters of moderate importance to the job area. Leadership and Talent Management: Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education. Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
