If this describes you, you may be the right candidate for the Clinical Research Assistant position with the department of Internal Medicine Epidemiology.

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision conducts a variety of established research functions. Part of the U.S. POINTER study team at Rush, which is a nationally and internationally recognized research trial which examines impact of "lifestyle interventions" on protection of cognition (Study Website: Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:
1.Assist with recruiting, phone screening, consenting and enrolling of participants into the study. 2. Assist in all aspects of the data collection process.
3.Administration and coordination of cognitive assessments and functional/physical assessments.
4.Maintain appropriate participant records as necessary.
5.Assist in the shipment of bio-specimens.
6.Attend regular study staff meetings to discuss issues concerning participants, data collection, and study-related procedures.
7.Comply with ethical standards for research involving human subjects.
8.Perform study-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, public health, basic science, or a relevant clinical discipline.

  • Experience in clinical research including interviewing, data collection procedures, and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including interest and ability to work as part of a team and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Must understand and maintain discretion and confidentiality related to all aspects of the study.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be self-directed and persistent, and manage complex scheduling tasks.

  • Experience working with older adults preferred.

  • Day travel within the greater Chicago area and surrounding suburbs; access to an automobile in good working condition.

Responsibilities will include preclinical and clinical instruction in all aspects of Orthodontics, supporting clinic operations, instruct postgraduate students and participate in clinic administration and care of patients. Duties: 1. Teach in advance program level clinical courses 2. Assist with course development and evaluation criteria 3. Teach in a variety of seminars and conferences in the department 4. Provide creative leadership in further development of graduate program 5. Advise and direct graduate students 6. Clinical responsibilities primarily in the Post-Graduate Clinic 7. Develop an independent research program 8. Collaborate with faculty to develop interdisciplinary research 9. Research and publication 10.Participate in collegiate faculty meetings as well as departmental staff meetings, and other divisional meetings and departmental conferences on a regular basis, 11.Participate in teaching 12.Participate in continuing education programs in the College and at other locations as deemed appropriate. 13.Participate in departmental and college committees 14.Participate in public service activities Qualifications: Candidate must have an accredited DDS/DMD or equivalent, have completed an accredited specialty program in Orthodontics preferably in the United States or Canada, be board eligible in the orthodontic specialty, and be eligible for specialty licensure in Illinois. Preferred abilities include, experience or strong training in the care of medically compromised patients and/or special needs patients, cleft lip and palate management, surgical cases, digital orthodontics as well as early / interceptive orthodontic. Working knowledge with Hispanic population is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary care and willingness to engage other academic departments and a history of academic accomplishments and the ability to develop an research program.
