Seeking entry-level clinical research administrative assistant to assist with participant registration and scheduling support for the All of Us Research program in the General Clinical Research Unit of Boston Medical Center. Spanish fluency required.

Seeking entry-level clinical research administrative assistant to assist with participant registration and scheduling support for the All of Us Research program in the General Clinical Research Unit of Boston Medical Center. Spanish fluency required.

Responsibilities

  • Participant front-desk appointment registration

  • Communicating (phone/email) visit status updates with research staff

  • Processing participant appointment payments and troubleshooting payment inquiries

  • Answering phone line

  • Participant appointment related phone calls (scheduling, appointment reminders, missed visit follow up)

  • Assisting participants who are unable to find clinic location

  • Ordering, tracking, and disseminating reimbursement debit cards to study staff

  • Document participant inquiries, concerns, complaints and escalate to Operations Coordinators and Managers, as needed.

  • Assisting research team as needed for appointment related support

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of administrative work experience or high school diploma and 5 years of administrative work experience

  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and Excel required

  • Experience using electronic data reporting tools and EPIC preferred

  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, as well as attention to detail are required

  • Strong oral and written communication skills required

  • Ability to assess, prioritize, and process multiple priorities in a fast paced work setting

  • Spanish fluency required

All of Us Research Program Description:

The All of Us Research Program is a national research program with the goal of building a diverse cohort of one million U.S. volunteers. The Program will widely represent the U.S. population with participants from different socioeconomic backgrounds, ancestral backgrounds, health conditions, and certain environmental and geographical factors. All samples and data will be stored in a secure database and provide researchers with baseline data, biospecimens, healthcare records, survey data, wearable device information and genetic results. The Research Program will support research in various areas including pharmacogenetics, precision medicine, prediction and prevention to advance treatments of diseases.

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Full-time; 40 hours per week Working under general supervision from a manager, supervisor or Principal Investigator, provides support to clinical research studies. May be responsible for the following activities: screening and scheduling potential participants for clinical research projects, developing and implementing patient recruitment strategies, study billing, patient compensation, maintaining and updating data generated by the study, assisting in the team effort of making judgment of suitability of potential participants for clinical trials, assorted administrative work on patient documents, folders and research projects, management of regulatory binders and documentation and specimen handling. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinates the implementation, both internally and externally, of clinical research studies. 2. Initiates and maintains recruitment contact with study participants. Responsible for screening applicants, ensuring they meet appropriate criteria, and makes independent judgement as to the suitability of their participation. May be required to perform clinical assessments such as blood pressure, weight, ECGs, etc. 3. Working in concert with Principal Investigator and/or Supervisor to develop and implement patient recruitment strategies. 4. Interacts with patients/subjects with regard to the study, including patient education, procedural instruction, follow-up. Serves as a liaison between patient and physician, and as a resource for participants and their families. 5. Responsible for collection data and maintaining patient information databases for the study. Develops, organizes, and/or maintains the study forms. Responsible for data validation and quality control, data entry into eCRFs, if applicable. May be required to input data, and do minimal analysis and run various reports. 6. Responsible for mailing various study information or packets to study participants. 7. Answers phone calls and questions regarding the study protocol. Refers participants when appropriate to principal and co-investigators. 8. Responsible for collection data and maintaining patient information databases for the study. Develops, organizes, and/or maintains the study forms. Responsible for data validation and quality control, data entry into eCRFs, if applicable. May be required to input data, and do minimal analysis and run various reports. 9. In conjunction with Manager completes regulatory paperwork for institutional review board approval (IRB). 10. Keeps study PI informed of study progress at all times. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. BS/BA degree required Previous laboratory, research, or clinical work preferred. Some knowledge of medical terminology, clinical practice and/or research studies highly desired. IATA certification preferred. Sound independent judgment and willingness to learn competence in research methodologies a must. SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: * Ability to work independently. * Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with study participants. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems * High degree of computer literacy. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. * Careful attention to detail. * Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for human subject rights and individual needs. * Knowledge of data management programs.
