VIEW JOBS 1/13/2023 12:00:00 AM 2023-04-13T00:00 <p>Close Date: April 30, 2023</p><p>This is a highly responsible position in an expanded role of professional nursing which provides independent primary care to a specified population of non-emergency patients, as well as responding to patient emergencies. The incumbent provides consultation and advice to others. This position is under the administrative direction of the Health Services Administrator and/or Mental Health Director the clinical direction of the physician.</p><p>This a &quot;mandatory-testing position&quot; that requires Drug Testing.</p><p>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES</p><p>Follows all standards and patient care protocols, all federal, state, correctional health care standards, and the Escambia County BCC Office policies, regulations, and guidelines</p><p>Provides health care and performs medical acts within guidelines of protocols established mutually with supervising physician</p><p>Identifies health problems through patient histories and examinations, develops and implements appropriate plan of care</p><p>Provides management and care of acute and chronic health problems. Provides related patient health care education</p><p>Performs physical examinations, evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow up consultation</p><p>Orders appropriate lab tests and medications, according to interpretation of diagnostic testing and response to treatment, while following established written protocol and institution formulary and state regulations</p><p>Performs consultation evaluations as requested and coordinates treatment and referrals with other disciplines as necessary</p><p>Conducts complete and accurate documentation in health records for care provided</p><p>Maintains health services records and logs and assists with data entry within the scope of clinically related information</p><p>Conducts rounds, reviews medications, observes and records progress and condition of inmates housed in confinement and receiving health care services</p><p>Compiles inpatient admission discharge/transfer summaries as required in department policies</p><p>Provides health care and crises intervention services in response to inmate emergencies</p><p>Performs other duties of a similar nature or level</p><p>TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS</p><p>Minimum Qualification Requirements:</p><p>Training and Experience:</p><p>Master's degree in Nursing or related field, and two years experience as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.</p><p>Must be able to obtain Security clearance</p><p>Licenses and Certifications:</p><p>Current State of Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license</p><p>Must possess a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification at the time of employment</p><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><p>experience in Correctional health care</p><p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (KSAOs):</p><p>federal, state, correctional health care standards, institutional policies and regulations and accreditation and certification requirements</p><p>patient care charts and histories</p><p>health education theory and practice</p><p>administrative planning and leadership skills</p><p>assist in supervision and training of staff to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments</p><p>maintain quality, safety and infection control standards</p><p>clinical operations and procedures</p><p>current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluations, diagnosis and treatment</p><p>strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.</p><p>SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION</p><p>County-wide Employee Responsibilities:</p><p>All Escambia County BCC employees must serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Escambia County BCC's Employee Code of Ethics, gift, and conflict of interest policies.</p><p>All Escambia County BCC employees must establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, political affiliation, familial status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or gender identity and expression.</p><p>Emergency Management Responsibilities:</p><p>During emergency conditions, the incumbent of this position will automatically be considered an emergency service worker.
