Clinical Professor of Anatomy and Physiology

The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a full-time Clinical Professor starting in the 2024 - 2025 academic year. This individual will teach undergraduate courses (lectures and laboratories) in anatomy and physiology.

The successful candidate must have minimally earned an MS degree in a related area of biology (or other relevant terminal degree) by the time of hire. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree and teaching experience are preferred but not mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at a liberal arts college. Individuals from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

The teaching load for this position is 18 contact hours per year. The successful candidate will also serve as lead coordinator for the Anatomy and Physiology course, and the Health Science major.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will communicate regularly with the Graduate Assistants and Adjunct Faculty teaching additional lab sections in order to ensure a consistent, robust laboratory experience for all students in the course. Additionally, this individual will partner with key personnel at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) to coordinate student placements for the senior learning experience.

The successful candidate will also be expected to attend departmental meetings and participate in departmental initiatives such as curricular revisions and strategies for outreach and recruitment (e.g. social media presence, virtual and on-campus events).

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in biology, or related field. Ph.D. preferred

  • Potential for excellence in teaching at the college level

  • Commitment to undergraduate education

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. Wagner College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
