Job Summary:
The Clinical Practice Supervisor is responsible for oversight of Epilepsy practice operations and enforcement of policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory and organization requirements.
Responsibilities:
Supervise patient care and operational activities to ensure that the practice successfully supports the organization's mission and vital values.
Review patient schedule and ensure provider and staff coverage.
Identify and resolve operational problems and maintain overall patient and work flows.
Review processes within practice for competencies and identify improvement areas.
Supervise assigned personnel including hiring, training, payroll reconciliation and yearly performance reviews.
Responsible for delegating work to assigned staff and achieving workflow standards.
Provides guidance and support to staff and ensures the work is completed efficiently and correctly.
Is or becomes a Cerner, RevID, and Neuroworks super-user. Ensure that within all patient visits are locked and billed, tasks are addressed, patient inquiries are answered, referrals and pre-certifications are obtained and portal inquiries are attended.
Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings to inform of changes in the practice's policies or processes, provide education to staff and allow staff to provide feedback on any areas or issues.
Review and resolve any insurance, billing, referral or authorization issues.
Oversee daily payment reconciliation.
Order and maintain office/medical supplies and equipment.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Provide coverage to front office as needed.
Perform other related duties as directed or required.
Provide clinical support when necessary within scope of practice for specific, certified/licensed role (i.e.: Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Assistant). Clinical support can include
Review of patient schedule and planning for clinical visits for the day with providers.
Escort patient to examination/treatment rooms and perform basic intake (i.e.: height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature).
Document medical history, medication reconciliation and enter information into EMR.
Perform finger sticks and other outpatient testing.
Pre-Certify drug refills and provide prescription information as directed by the physician.
Assist providers with patient visits as needed, including procedures.
Obtain blood work and specimens from patients.
Inform patients of test results under direction of the provider.
Assist patients with coordinating follow-up testing and on-going treatment after review with providers. Assist in coordinating with hospital and other clinical sites for continuum of care for follow-up patient care.
Prep exam & treatment rooms and ensure that each room is properly stocked for patient care.
Clean and sterilize instruments and assist in ordering clinical supplies and equipment.
Assist with scheduling, authorizations, referrals, phone calls and other clerical duties as needed.
