Maine Medical Center is looking for experienced pharmacists practicing in ambulatory and outpatient pharmacy services to specialize in specialty pharmacy care to our patients.
Advanced pharmacy information systems and automation will be utilized.
Under general direction of the Specialty Pharmacy Manager, the Specialty Clinical Pharmacist Per Diem will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care and evidence-based, cost-effective pharmacotherapy, with the goal of ensuring smooth care transitions and positive patient outcomes.
Minimum One Year experience working in Specialty Pharmacy strongly desired Some core functions are as follows: Participate in the dispensing, documentation, and management of specialty prescriptions Provide patient-centered care Work within an overall strategic plan to coordinate care and optimize outcomes for patients Engage stakeholders to work collaboratively within the health care team to provide cost- effective and safe patient care Participates in the team approach to quality improvement and patient safety Knowledge of the federal government's 340B drug pricing program is preferred.
Oriented to provide strong customer service.
Knowledge of URAC/ACHC Accreditation a plus Position Summary Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, or their designee, the Clinical Pharmacist reviews drug therapy, formulates recommendations based on current literature and established standards of practice, directly supervises supportive personnel serves as a resource for drug information; participates and directly supervises the preparation and distribution of medications, and serves as a member of the healthcare team with the prescriber and direct caregiver.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Graduate of an ACCP accredited school/college of pharmacy is required.
Eligible or currently licensed in the State of Maine.
Work experience as a patient care pharmacist involved in patient monitoring and drug therapy review is preferred.
Experience in an organized healthcare setting is preferred.
Analytical skills necessary to identify and resolve problems related to drug therapy.
Experience in the monitoring and consultation on drug therapy in patients of all age groups.
