The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist for Critical Care is responsible for the provision of advanced Clinical Pharmacy services within an acute care setting including, clinical interface with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, process improvement and medication therapy management. Reviews medication orders for compliance with aspects of Pharmaceutical Care.
Provides patient education regarding medications. Contributes to specialty practice through committee participation and development of policies, procedures, and pharmacy practice protocols. Trains pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents.
Trains pharmacist staff in areas related to emergency medicine. Directly contributes to patient care through the coordination of departmental clinical practices and programs. Provides in-service education and drug information to health care professionals.
Education
Bachelors Degree : Pharmacy or PharmD (Required)
Other: PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Critical Care/ Emergency Medicine or a relevant combination of education and experience (Required)
Experience
2 Years experience in institutional practice or residency (Required)
License/Certifications
RPH-LIC - PA Pharmacist License (Required)
BCPS - Cert Pharmacotherapy Spec (Preferred)
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred)
