The Pharmacist shall be responsible for medication order entry, preparation and distribution for patients. The Pharmacist will help to ensure the appropriate prescription and administration of medications to patients within the institution. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred.
Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program or a minimum of 2 years' experience.
Active Pharmacist license required or eligible and must be obtained within 3 months of hire to position.
Alabama Controlled Substance license required, or obtained within 3 months of hire in position.
BCPS or BCPPS preferred, required within 2 years of hire to position.
ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP required or attainment within the first 6 months of hire.
Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties.
Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system.
Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management.
Knowledge of aseptic technique.
Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
