Qualifications

  • 5 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting or,

  • 3 years experience working as a pharmacist

  • 3 to 5 years of previous management experience

  • Case management experience required

  • Registered Nurse with current Texas license with no license restrictions or,

  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook and Excel

Accountabilities in this role

  • Responsible for managing daily operations for the Enhanced Appeals Support and Adverse Event teams, providing enhanced appeals support for patient access to pharmaceutical product

  • Interfacing with non-clinical Case Managers for appeals support

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations, or business support staff

  • Administers and executes policies and procedures

  • Ensures employees operate within guidelines

  • Decisions have a direct impact on work unit operations and customers

What is expected of you and others at this level * Manages department operations and supervises professional employees, frontline supervisors and/or business support staff * Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals * Ensures employees operate within guidelines * Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers * Interacts with subordinates, peer customers and suppliers at various management levels may interact with senior management * Interactions normally involves resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects * Gains consensus from various parties involved Accountabilities * Supervision of licensed nurses who perform compliance persistency calls and pharmacovigilance in a call center environment * Assisting with the day-to-day operations to include quality monitoring of calls and charting * Training on adverse event, product complaint reporting, and medical information to clinical and non-clinical staff * Implementation of new programs to include writing and updating work instructions and standard operation procedures * Performing User Acceptance Testing of new and existing systems * Onboarding of new clinical staff * Providing phone coverage for breaks, lunches and absences as needed * Sending adverse event reconciliation reports to clients * Mentoring and coaching staff to meet key performance indicators * Interviewing potential new candidates * Assisting with program development * Being a positive change agent Qualifications * 5 years supervisory experience, preferred * Nursing or Pharmacy degree, preferred * 5 years of hospital or clinical experience, preferred * Knowledge of rare diseases and oncology, preferred * Chronic disease management, preferred * Basic health insurance knowledge, preferred * Call center and telephonic nursing background , required * Able to obtain RN licenses in other States within one year of employment, required * Ability to multitask and in a fast paced environment, required * Case Management certification desired, preferred; other certifications considered * Experience working with high functioning teams; required * Must have excellent computer and writing skills, required * Ability to work with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint required * Spanish speaker desired, preferred * Experience with teaching and development of instructional material, preferred * Conducting web meetings, required Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
