Clinical Nurse Training Specialist

Centers Health Care is actively seeking a Clinical Nurse Training Specialist to serve as a nurse trainer/educator for multiple Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers (cluster), with a primary focus of onboarding new personnel, nursing orientation and competency development in the NY metropolitan area.

Duties and Requirements

  • The Clinical Training Specialist must have experience as a nurse in the Long -Term Care/Skilled Nursing and Rehab and possess proven and successful outcomes with patient care and the understanding of facility education and development.

  • Goals of the role are growth and development of nursing staff within a cluster of nursing homes.

  • The role will provide consistent onboarding and training with policy and system review, orientation, educational fairs and will assist the Corporate Director of Education and Development with project and policy development.

  • Position will report to the Corporate Director of Education and Development and enhance the facility Assistant Director's educational role.

  • Key to the Clinical Training Specialist role is observation/assessment, and identification of staff learning needs and understanding of content.

  • The Clinical Training Specialist has the opportunity to "think out of the box", for exciting development and implementation of orientation and educational programs, learner responses and the overall Center's outcome.

  • The Clinical Training Specialist must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure by the State Board of Nursing.

  • A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required.

  • A minimum of two years of nursing experience in long-term care nursing is required.

  • Interest and demonstrable ability in teaching/training adults is required.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours in order to meet with employees working evening and night shifts.

  • Must be able to travel to the assigned buildings with infrequent overnight travel for regional or other meetings.

Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Safety Compliance Specialist conducts safety and environmental inspections of the institution and prepares a report for the Environmental and Safety Compliance Administrator's review. The incumbent should be prepared to submit recommendations to correct the deficiencies discovered. Safety Compliance Specialist will assist the Environmental and Safety Compliance Administrator or Assistant Environmental and Safety Compliance Administrator in conducting investigations.
