Based on the sciences of nursing practice, learning, and change, the Clinical Nurse Specialist uses knowledge and skill in education theory and application, career development, leadership, and program management to support lifelong nursing professional development. The Clinical Nurse Specialist may act as a clinician to assess and coordinate quality patient care and may provide patient care related to a specialty. Minimal supervision is required.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or relevant field (e.g., Education, Health Admin, Emergency Management)
Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
Certification initiated for area of specialty within 1 year of hire.
5 years Clinical experience with 3 years in area of specialty.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant field (e.g., Education).
Experience in education program development and staff education and support.
