Clinical Nurse Specialist (Pediatrics) Reading Area, Pennsylvania We are looking to add a new member to our team!
As an integral member of both the Nursing Leadership team and the facility staff, the Clinical Nurse Specialist acts as an educator, consultant, facilitator, clinician and resource person.
Summary: Based on assessed learning needs, the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) collaborates with the Health Care Team to plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs related to specialized units.
The CNS will coordinate, the orientation program of the hospital's Pediatric nursing units, as well as provide a variety of educational programs and in-services that assist staff members to acquire and maintain performance competencies.
The CNS will lead efforts associated with new knowledge and innovation including interdisciplinary quality initiatives (unit specific quality improvement projects, VBP, Core Measures), evidence-based practice projects and clinical research.
Analyzes the learning needs of healthcare providers and patients; evaluates program outcome effectiveness, and the relevance and appropriateness of educational materials.
Facilitates staff involvement in departmental quality improvement projects; evaluates performance improvement and regulatory requirement data; promotes staff involvement in hospital-wide performance improvement projects.
Fosters the clinical development of staff by functioning as a clinical leader in an advising and guiding role; functions as a nurse advocate and change agent during organizational and committee meetings.
Articulates JCAHO, DOH, Magnet and other regulatory agency standards.
Collaborates with the patient, patient's family and healthcare providers in achieving best practices and optimal patient outcomes; consults with healthcare providers to develop plans of care designed to promote positive patient outcomes.
Assists with the completion of performance appraisals and assesses the achievement of staff competence, and documents the achievement of staff competence.
Promotes the professional development of employees and monitors the professional development of healthcare providers.
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing required Doctorate in Nursing preferred Certification / Licensure: Current State Registered Nurse (RN) License required Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certification highly preferred (must be willing to obtain) Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor Preferred ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Instructor Preferred PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Instructor Preferred NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Instructor Preferred Certification in specialty area of practice highly desired Experience: 5+ years of nursing experience in Pediatrics required Clinical Nurse Specialist experience highly preferred Previous experience as an Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pediatrics preferred Special

Demonstrates abilities in efficient and effective use of patient care supplies, equipment and mechanical devices.
Demonstrates ability to use standard audiovisual equipment.

We utilize a restraint-free, person centered approach to help each of our clients achieve their goals. InVision HS is currently seeking a Clinical Specialist for our Residential Living Program to support our continued growth in Eastern Pennsylvania. Responsibilities * Ensures people are supported in a manner which honors the company's mission and philosophy through developing the customized support plan (CSP) and training the direct support professionals in its use. * Provides ongoing clinical consultation, training, coaching, and guidance to direct support professionals of the residential program. Ensures all team members are working towards the person's vision of a meaningful and everyday life. * Provides training to staff in implementation of the Customized Support Plan, fade requirements, Individualized Support Plan, positive approaches and risk management plan, dietary needs, and medical plans. * Carries out all planning, development, prevention and intervention strategies using a restraint free and least restrictive methodology * Works collaboratively and openly as part of an interdisciplinary team with Program Supervisors to ensure the implementation of best practices and person directed services. * Oversees service provision of the individual supported. * Provides 24 hour on-call clinical consultation to direct support professionals and program supervisors during designated periods. RequirementsA Master's degree or above in Social Work, Psychology, Education from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities. OR A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education from an accredited college or university and 4 years work experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities. * Experience working with people with dual diagnosis is strongly preferred. * Must embrace the philosophies of positive, person centered and person directed approaches as well as believing the right of all people to have full and meaningful lives. * Exceptional communication skills both written and oral. * Ability to work independently; yet collaborate with clinical team members * Ability to effectively present information, write reports and respond to questions from clients, families and staff. * Must possess excellent decision making, time management, and conflict resolution skills. * Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle * Extensive travel to all locations is required. (Mileage reimbursement provided.) * Up to 30% of hours will be non-traditional (i.e., evenings/weekends/early mornings) * Must successfully complete pre-employment physical, drug screen, tb test, criminal history, and FBI fingerprinting.
