The School of Nursing offers high quality and accessible education through CCNE accredited programs, including basic BSN, RN-BSN, BSN 2nd degree, DNP in nurse anesthesia, MSN family nurse practitioner, MSN adult-gerontology nurse practitioner, MSN forensic nursing and a post-master's DNP. A new PhD in nursing program was launched in Fall of 2019.

Job Description Summary

The Oakland University School of Nursing is seeking applications for a part time clinical nurse simulation facilitator. Applicants will manage under-graduate student simulation experiences.

Responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to, operating simulation mannequins, serving as a technical expert, conducting pre-brief and de-brief student interactions and have familiarity with various modalities of simulation education. Applicants hired into this position will be required to maintain current simulation education and will be encouraged to seek simulation certification. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Candidates must demonstrate experience with and/or commitment to diversity and inclusion.

We have multiple simulation facilitators working with us each semester and we interview and hire throughout the academic year. The expected hire date is based on the first date you would be working in the simulation lab and this date will vary between facilitators.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate degree in nursing or related/relevant field required.

Current, active, unrestricted license as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan required.

Minimum of three (3) years of recent RN experience required.

Current clinical nursing knowledge and ongoing maintenance of clinical competency required.

Simulation experience preferred, but training will be provided.Experience teaching in higher education or professional setting preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and technical skills needed.Ability to acquire new techniques is necessary.

Ability to help move equipment, including mannequins, is needed.
